Checking eligibility to work in the UK
TLS have a responsibility to prevent illegal working in the UK by ensuring that our partners have the right to work here. Under the terms of the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006, we are required to make basic checks on all personnel. In order to comply with the Law, all partners are required to provide an original document or combination of documents from either List A, List B Group 1 or List B Group 2 below in order to demonstrate your right to work in the UK.
If you have a permanent right to work in the UK you should provide a document or combination of documents from List A.
If you have a temporary right to work in the UK you must provide a document or combination of documents from either List B Group 1 or List B Group 2.
List B – Acceptable documents to establish a statutory excuse for a limited period of time
Group 1 – Documents where a time-limited statutory excuse lasts until the expiry date of leave
Group 2 – Documents where a time-limited statutory excuse lasts for 6 months
